Now Live (Again)

After moving the Xbox 360 downstairs I had been off Live for about 2 or 3 months but no more! I'm back thanks to the new wireless network I've installed in the house.

Now I've just got to find time to play the games. :( These 13 hour days are killing me.

A Slight Copyright Infrigment!?

Well if you're going to do something you may as well go the whole hog...

Lets just say Sony will be getting a letter in their inbox informing them of this infringement. Sure I might dislike Sony as a company but if there is one thing I can't stand above anything else it's Gypsies.

Prior Engagements...

And so it eventually happened.

I proposed to Anita, on Goodrington Sands, Paignton on the beach after the sun had gone down, with me down on one knee in the sand. Oh romantic me...

Burn Baby Burn

Having had a day to recuperate from the my holiday, after a 6am start and 5 hour train journey I feel much better, oh boy did I needed it.

Me and Anita have just got back from Paignton on the English Rivera and well, believe it or not it did earn that name this week despite the weather being no where near as hot and sunny in the rest of the UK. However, despite staying in the same country never mind time zone I still feel jetlagged. Not from my sleep patterns being mixed up but from not being constantly involved in the games industry. I wouldn't feel so out of touch apart from the fact that apparently mobile internet has yet to be invented in the south west of England. Funnily enough it's only when you're away from something that you begin to realise how much of your life it makes up. For me, journalism and gaming seems to make up almost every single hour of my day that is free. All I can say is thank god for holidays.

Anyway, so how was the holiday? Good, very good. I believe an appropriate song for my back would be so bloody burned. For god sake I was born and grew up in Australia. I can control my body temperature better than most people (for example I can walk around in a winter jump in the middle of 30C heat and not sweat a drop nor feel uncomfortable) but I can't stop getting burned. Well, at least not on my the back of my neck or back of my waist. Everywhere else is fine except for those parts of my oh so traffic light red back. Luckly despite me peeling where my shirt has rubbed against my burnt skin I'm still tans as a serial sunbed addictee, just without the orange skin. As my family will tell thee, give me a month in the sun and I'll be as black as an african so it's not really that much of a tan for me.

So we had a good time, messed about at the sea, went to the waterpark and just relaxed. Sure there were funny parts like when I went out in my 3 man rubber dingy and managed to get blown out to sea. Well, at least out to the edge of the rock pools where my dingy got snagged on the seaweed. I had to get out and swim back... not fun. I also managed to get the shits, shakes and aches either from swallowing sea water or eating undercooked food from a pub near the beach. What every it was it was horrible and ruined a day of the holiday. Still, at least it made me appreciate the other days more.

Oh and Virgin Trains, I don't know what you guys where thinking when you only put on a train to Paignton from Glasgow and vice versa when you knew full well that you'd need at least eight. Deny it? Tough, even your staff admitted the train was meant to be 8 carriages. Thanks to your incompetence you had people piled up in the walkways between the seating areas and people fighting over booked seats when people were sat in them. Great customer service guys!
